It is said that Lorenzo de Zavala designed the first Texas flag in 1836 for the convention that drafted the Texas Declaration of Independence. No original copy exists, but it believed the design included a five point white star on a blue ground with the letters spelling TEXAS encircling the star.

People in the past wore a cockade to tell a story about themselves. I love researching what those stories were and why people wanted to tell them. People today have stories to tell too, so that's what motivates me to keep making cockades! What's your story and how can I help you tell it better?
